Polished to perfection!

I received this as a tiny sample. I am mid 50’s with no blemishes (left those behind many years ago thankfully). I used this morning and night for 2-3 days and feel like my skin has been polished to perfection. Some of those eye wrinkles even look a little faded. Not sure if this is the best product (is the salicylic acid one better?) And how this would work with my retinol. Perhaps a monthly intensive - definitely will be using again.

Best thing so far for my skin

Gosh how many products have I bought when people have wrote ‘nothing has worked, I’ve tried everything but this is the only thing that works blah blah.’ However at 34 having really used insane amounts of skincare since 17, I can say this works for oily combination breakout skin. I hadn’t got into chemical exfoliants yet but my skin is now forever smooth. I still have the odd blemish or patch of those tiny little red spots that don’t come out if I eat bad, but the glow and smoothness I’m getting with this is great. Yes skinceuticals are a little pricier, but why spend more on things that don’t have the backed science like this brand do. If something works, it’s worth however much it costs. I was worried I’d get red with this but I don’t. A doctor at a clinic told me about it and I wish I’d acted sooner on it. I never feel my skin isn’t smooth anymore. Often by the end of a day I’d feel my nose was patchy/oily and want to exfoliate with a scrub, however now this just has my whole skin clearer and smoother!

Less oily cheeks

I have been using this serum twice a day for the past 3 weeks. I brought this as I have combination skin which is prone to breakouts which leaves dark marks. Since using this serum I've noticed my cheeks are less oily and my hyperpigmentation is fading quicker than normal. I do get a slight tingling sensation around my nose area after using this serum. It's not painful or intense and only lasts for around a minute. This serum contains glycolic acid, Salicylic acid and Dioic acid which helps to unclog pores and reduce the production of sebum which causes the excess oil on skin. My skin is looking better, more balanced, smooth and the dark marks are fading. As for the smell of this serum, I would describe it as a green plant like smell. It's not strong, just slightly noticeable when you open the bottle. Overall it is working well on my skin so I will keep it in my daily skincare routine.

Effective

I have to say this is not the miracle product some reviewers have made it out to be, so my spots/acne, didn't disappear overnight, however they did gradually reduce and my skin is definitely clearer and improved over time.

The best product for blemish, oily & aging skin

I have suffered with blemishes, mostly hormonal, large, pores and oily skin, and just generally very congested, bumpy skin my whole life, and I have tried hundreds of products claiming to do wonders for my skin over the years. I think, after so many different products I have built the experience to be able to say confidently that no product in the market, regardless of the pay point compares to this, I don’t know how it’s doing it, but this product is out of this world, within one application I saw and felt the skin texture change and the blemishes disappear . After a week I had the best skin I’ve ever had in my life, all my blemishes gone, my pores appear smaller, oiliness has reduced dramatically, and my skin feels smooth to the touch, all the bumps under the skin in general and the rough texture has gone. With continued use, I wake up every morning and see the best skin I’ve ever had in my life, sadly it cannot reverse damage or enlarged pores that have been there for years but it gives me back the best version of what my skin can be today. Hope in a bottle!

I have been suffering from painful, scarring cystic acne breakouts and this little bottle of magic brought my skin to clear within a week… no joke. My clogged pores are disappearing and my skin feels so soft. I get a small surprise each time I feel my smooth chin. Couldn’t be more impressed.

Unbelievable Results

Great stuff

I have been using this project for a few years, I have bad pigmentation and acne scaring, within weeks of using this little bottle of miracle, my skin has changed so much. Pores are reduced, dark patches have lightened. The very dark pigmentation on my forehead has almost disappeared, this area has taken longer, but it was really bad, and I use skin ceuticals suncream so that helps. This, will forever be my go to product, when I've had sun exposure or an acne breakout. I highly recommend.

Works very well

Powerful and effective!!!

This serum was recommended to me at a skin consultation, and it is effective for acne-prone skin, especially during that time of the month :) Because it contains Salicylic acid, this serum is highly beneficial for acne-prone skin. I only use this serum at night and follow it up with Skinceuticals phloretin CF and Skinceuticals oil shield spf in the morning.

Amazing results on hormonal acne

I stopped taking my contraceptive pill and my face blew up, I was walking around with an acne beard. A colleague recommended this product and I'm now on my second bottle. I felt a tingling sensation on the skin but nothing harsh, I like feeling it working. My skin instantly felt better and after a few weeks using it consistently morning and night my acne calm down, I did get the odd spot around my period but my skin is nothing like it was before. I am also usually quite oily and constantly having to use powders throughout the day but I not needing them so much at all!

Holy Grail for pimples

I recently started getting break outs across my forehead and chin and decided to try this serum. After one week using it at night after cleansing my pimples have cleared, no new pimples have formed and my skin is silky smooth which I all put down to this product. From the first application I noticed my skin texture improve, its a pleasant consistency that sinks in quickly, I sometimes feel a light tingling sensation for a few seconds when applying but very tolerable and goes away quickly.

The best product I’ve ever used

I’ve never written a review in my life but I think this was worth a mention. I have suffered with adult acne for two years and like many of us, it has made me feel proper bad about myself. I’ve used la Roche posay ,Paula’s choice etc etc but thought I would spend a bit more money as my acne was so stubborn. Anyways I bought this and genuinely I saw a difference the first day. My acne has cleared up in a matter of days- yes there’s scars but I can see they are fading. I can’t wait to continue and see the results. Cannot recommend it enough- it also doesn’t inflame my skin or annoy it like most acne products. 10/10 ❤️❤️

Works so quickly

I'm 33 and have suffered with blemishes not as bad as acne but one after the other kind of spots,especially after having my baby there was just nothing that i could do to stop breakouts! Until now,I purchased this slightly worried it would break me out as some products like this would normally do,I received one or two blemishes i won't lie,but nothing like what I'm used to,no red swollen lumps or sore to touch blemishes just a normal kind of spots. But what I'm really impressed with it the texture to my skin my forehead feels soft and tightened,my pores reduced and overall appearance more radiant all within one week of use! Magic in bottle

After trying so many different products for my face I was extremely happy to find something that is very effective. I used to have acne (cystic acne in jaw area) for many years. After only a week of using this serum I saw a massive improvement, the skin is clearer, pores have shrunk and the most persistent acne are GONE. The product does dry skin a little bit (I have dry to combination) but I make sure I moisturise it sufficiently. It is an amazing product indeed.

I struggled to get rid of acne for two years after stopping to take birth control pills. I've tried at least ten different products until I find out the SkinCeuticals Blemish and Age Defense. Blown Away

This is my first time ever leaving a review for a product. I felt the need to write one after using this product for the first time last night. I have struggled with hormonal acne for almost two years now and I have tried countless skincare products to try and solve the problem. I had two new whiteheads that started to come up during a hot day working outside, I applied this product at night before moisturizing and WOW !!! An hour later the whitehead had flattened and by the morning it was 100% GONE ! I’m so excited to continue to reap the benefits of this product with continued use.

Pretty great product

This was my first Skinceuticals product. I bought it along with the LHA cleanser. I think this serum is really great but it didn't work as well as I had hoped until I added in the Phloretin CF and just most recently the 0.3 retinol. Adding those to my skincare routine totally changed the way this serum works (for my skin anyways). I have been using Skinceuticals for a little over 6 weeks now and the product line has been a game changer for me. I use the Blemish & Age defense every second night, alternating with the 0.3 retinol and my skin has transformed. Haven't had a single blemish since and my skin is starting to glow instead of having that dull appearance that most acne products give it. Will definitely purchase again.

Glowing skin

I've been using this product for about 2 months now, morning and night, and the results are better than any product I have tried before....including prescription medication. My dream come true!

I have struggled with adult cystic acne on my chin and aging at the same time. I had tried so many things and was about to throw the towel. Legit went back to bet soap and nothing, I did see improvements with acne but needed something to moisturize. My friend recommended this product line so I figured hey why not try? I am beyond impressed and never through this stuff would do this good for my skin. I’m 34 and have mild acne since I was a teenager. I have literally tried everything and I’m so happy that I’ve finally found something that works. Amazing product - worth the money!

I have struggled with acne for the past 15 years of my life (high school through to my late 20s). I have tried various products, vitamins, topical medications, medical grade treatments, home remedies, food changes, and naturopathic suggestions. The only product that I have not tried, in my opinion, is accutane. Some options worked in the short-term, but overall, I continued to experience deep, cystic acne along my jaw line as well as acne scarring. I was hesitant at first to purchase the Blemish + Age Defense Serum due to the price; however, I caved in Fall, 2019 and will never go back to anything else! In a matter of two months, my skin drastically (I mean DRASTICALLY!) improved. The bottle lasts me about two months with daily evening use. The formula is quite potent, so I only put the serum on parts of my skin that are in need. For the past eight months, I have paired the Blemish + Age Defense Serum with the LHA Cleansing Gel, Daily Moisture, and on occasion, the Triple Lipid Restore (expense but also worth it!). I found the LHA Toner to be too drying for my skin. I have also focused on improving my sleep and relaxation practices. I would highly recommend this product if you are struggling with acne and are looking to try something different. A+ product!

Not suitable for my sensitive skin

Based on the glowing reviews for this product, I was really hoping for great results. My skin is quite sensitive and reactive, but I also struggle with breakouts and occasional cystic acne. Unfortunately, my skin reacted badly to this serum. It made my whole face break out. In case it was just a coincidence, I discontinued use and tried again when my skin had calmed; the same results. Disappointed.

BEST acne fighter/ preventer ever !

I never had acne in my life and I’m 26 now and I started getting terrible pimples on my forehead, and mainly chin. I couldn’t help but pop them which made my skin scar and spread the acne more. I used multiple different skin care lines and none worked. Finally I spent the money and I now use the LHA toner, blemish age defends and the daily moisturizer and my skin looks FLAWLESS!!! No make up needed.. my forehead sun damage is also gone. Obsessed and in love with this product! Skin changed in 3 days of using this!

The only one for me

This serum was recommended to me by my aesthetician for my blemishes. I’ve been using it for almost a year and this thing WORKS! It tackles blemishes and I sometimes use it as a spot treatment. Life saver for blemish-prone skin

I have a combination skin prone to breakouts and ever since I started using blemish + age defense, my skin has improved dramatically and I had only one spot during this whole time. Well I have both issues and I have found this product to be really helpful in managing my hormonal breakouts and enhancing the appearance of my skin. I have only needed 3 drops maximum for my whole face. Upon application there is a slight tingly sensation (all those ingredients working to unclog the skin) which disappears almost immediately. The serum absorbs straight into the skin; enabling me to apply my SPF without feeling any heaviness on my skin. It is early days in terms of use, but after a few weeks of using it twice daily, I can 100 per cent see, a visible difference in my skin. I started using it during a really bad breakout. This serum has saved my skin during this time, and I really feel like it's helped reduced risk of pigmentation and scaring post breakout; it has certainly cleared my skin much quicker than usual (a winner for me). I have also not needed to exfoliate as this serum helps improve skin texture - this has been a great time saver! Great product all round and I look forward to seeing more results with further use.

Innovative product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] SKINCEUTICALS BLEMISH AGE CONTROL My 44-year-old oily skin has started to dry up a bit with age, but I still get a few spots along the jawline and the eyebrows. My adult acne is much more difficult to treat than my teenage acne because the bumps are trapped too deep under the skin to squeeze! My teenage acne was nearer the surface and responded well to drying ingredients like benzyl peroxide, but now these just dry out my skin. This serum kills two birds with one stone: it exfoliates dead skin blocking the pores and reduces sunspots at the same time. I don't have any sunspots fortunately, having obsessively applied sunscreen since I was 18. As a beauty therapist I am glad that grainy exfoliators are going out of fashion and are being replaced by acid exfoliators, which are far more effective and more gentle. I was impressed by the selection of acids in this serum. I am also impressed that it is formulated at the correct pH needed for effective exfoliation. (3-4). I think we will be seeing a lot more of LHA, a more gentle exfoliant than glycolic acid. Although there is not much evidence relating to dionic acid, I trust Skinceuticals. For the last six weeks I have been using it on the right hand side of my face only so that I could compare results and I was surprised to see a difference after only three weeks. After a tiny bit of purging on my nose and forehead, my skin is now a lot less bumpy than it has been in ages. My skin is also more even-toned because it really helped to fade the red marks left after spots. I personally did not find the high alcohol content drying, but I still wish that Skinceuticals would find a less drying alternative.

Visible results on skin tone and acne

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Be warned: this product comes in a badly-designed bottle with dropper that it's *really* easy to spill through accidentally not closing it properly! This is the second time I've lost half the contents of a Skinceuticals product this way and I'm a bit heartbroken because this one is a) expensive and b) amazingly effective. That aside, I would very much recommend this. I used it once or twice a day for a month and the effect on my active acne, mild acne scarring and general skin tone (enlarged pores, dullness, patches of dry skin) was very noticeable. It's a great texture that goes on really smoothly and you don't need much per application. My only quibble is that it left my skin very shiny so my usual BB cream wasn't enough to keep my face matte and I had a few days when I caught a glimpse of myself in a mirror and was embarrassed by my reflective face! But my confidence overall really increased because I felt better about my skin than I have for quite some time. It's expensive but if you can afford it, totally worth it.

Worth it

After using this it certainly seemed to speed the healing and got rid of some long time stubborn ones. A lot of blemish products can be drying but I didn't fine this the case, which is a good think in my book.

Great Product but...

A little miracle

Having recently had a fringe cut into my hairstyle I started to get quite a few spots on my forehead using this greatly reduces these. Nice dropper and has a very liquidy constistany. It’s probably best to use on concentrated acne as it can be quite drying if you use it all over the face.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this because it has salicylic acid. Lactic acid or glycolic acid have in the past not worked so great for me. My skin is quite sensitive and clogs up easily, a good exfoliating product is very important to me, however, grainy exfoliants are just too harsh on my skin. I used this as a 1. step right after cleansing, on completely dry skin. After the 1. use I already saw and felt a difference in my skin, it was a lot smoother and felt really soft. I did experience a little redness and irritation, but only on my cheeks and only for a few seconds. I continued to apply the serum, but not on my cheeks, as I don't really need exfoliation in this area. I had no irritation or redness in other areas of my face. Overall I think this is a great serum for me. It frees up clogged pores and smoothes the skin wonderfully, it really makes a great difference. I feel that other products applied after this sink in more deeply and work more effectively. My skin has never looked smoother. I only used this about 3 x per week though, for me this is just enough.

Improved pores and more glorious!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just 5-6 drops of the serum every time is enough to cover the whole face! Serum is easy to absorb and it's very refreshing. It's not sticky or thick. After applying the serum after my toner, I could feel a little bit tingling and warm on my face as if the acids and the active ingredients start to work on my enlarged pores and fine lines. After using the serum for two weeks, I find myself have improved pores and softer skin! Also, I noticed the skin tone has improved better as well. My skin looks less congested and more glowing!

Great product solving acne

Not dry in a freezing weather and accelerate the acne to maturity so that it would be cleaned and cured quickly. didn't feel effectiveness of age defense till now. Should pay attention to sunscreening or repairing after using the product to solve acne problems, or else your face will easily catch up with acne marks.

Great For 30+!

Good results

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have problem skin and find it difficult to treat both aging and acne. I was excited to try this product and have been using it for 3 weeks or so. The effects were not immediate but it is worth giving it extra time as my skin has definitely improved. It is generally clearer, brighter and less congested and I have had no major outbreaks ( a few small bumps only).

Great for preventing adult acne

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've never used anything better to help me with my adult acne, which I've had from most of my adulthood. Great for fighting blackheads, blocked pores, and for preventing new spots appearing. What is even better, it helps with small wrinkles, which is unbelievable, as both issues are a real concern to me at the moment. An ideal product for my skin. I'm a little concerned that I may build tolerance with time, therefore I am now trying to use it every other day, and not daily. However, still an amazing skin care serum which I cannot recommend highly enough for age concern and acne prone skin.

Blemish busting serum

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use Blemish + Age Defence to help deal with the occasional breakout. I prefer applying at night as my skin reddens, tingles and feels like it’s being sterilised! A moisturiser applied 5-10 minutes later takes away the sting. Spots diminish overnight and skin feels refreshed.

Clear skin

I was concerned that it might dry my skin due to the alcohol content, but it hasn't. My skin is clear and bright. The product is very light in texture and disappears almost as soon as it touches the skin. It can tingle when applied, but that only lasts a second.

Great for oily skin

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great product for people with oily skin and ageing concerns. I'm 30 so I have started to see the first wrinkles on my face, but my skin is still as oily as it was when I was 15 so I can't use most anti-ageing products, as they tend to break me out. I tried this product last year for the first time and I loved it. I made the mistake of introducing 3 new products to my skincare regime at the same time, so I couldn't be 100% certain of what was effective and what wasn't. As this was the most expensive item, I decided not to buy this one once I finished it and continued my skincare with the rest of the products. It was an absolute mistake, as this was clearly the one product that was keeping my face less oily and acne free. Definitely works for blemishes and oil. I always find it difficult to comment on the anti-ageing results, as it's a long term game. But it has glycolic acid, which is good against signs of age, so I'm sure it's working in that area too. It's a great product. The only downside, which is why I took one star off, is that it has a significant amount of alcohol, which is bad for the skin. I have looked for similar products without alcohol but the ones I've tried don't work. I wish they got rid of the alcohol or reduced the amount of it but honestly, I can't find a replacement. It's a great product.

Smoother and more radiant skin almost instantly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first thing to note about this product is how quickly and easily absorbed by my combination to oily skin. Usually extra additions to my routine add an extra inconvenience. Secondly are the actual results. After around ten days to use, my visible black and white heads have completely disappeared, especially from my nose and forehead area which is always a concern to me. I love this product and will be buying it again!

Light weight, effective, non greasy- great for oily skin types

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This serum is a light weight, non greasy, non oily serum. Occasionally it does tingle a little after application but this very quickly subsided. I love that it is a serum with a mix of AHA’s and BHA’s and in just two weeks I’ve already noticed an improvement in my black head congestion & the overall appearance of my skin. It’s also helping reduce the appearance of old acne scares. I’ve not had a breakout while I’ve been using the serum so I’m over the moon. It leaves your skin feeling velvety and it absorbs well and works great along side the Vit C serums & Hydrating skinceutical serums. This is now a skincare stable!

Great for time of the month breakouts

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was initially unsure of this product, I worried it may dry my skin out if used all over rather than just on the target areas - it did not. I generally only have spots just before my time of the month so this is a great product to use in the run up to that time to help prevent spots. It tingles a little for a very short while but is not unpleasant. i guess if you have sensitive skin this may be a bit more of an issue. I like the idea of having a skin 'wardrobe' and looking at my skin day to day to see what it needs, this product is great to have for days when my skin needs a bit of help. Really pleased that Skinceuticals recognises it's not just oily skin types or young people that have blemish problems. I gather a large percentage of people aged 40+ also suffer from such skin problems at some point so it is good to have a product specifically to address age concerns and spots.

My new skincare staple...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am 26 years old, and suffer with very large open pores that make my skin very prone to blemishes. I have used this product now for over 12 months and have noticed a big improvement in my skin. I like the way it feels on my skin, very light consistency that quickly absorbs into skin. I use once a day, usually in the evening before bed after cleansing and toning with the blemish + age cleanser and solution. After I use retexturizing activator (Another great product). I also like that fact that the product has no frills, it does what it says, the smell is pretty neutral. It does feel very potent, and as I have very sensitive skin I thought this would be a problem, however I have not had any problems with this. The price is a little high, but the product does last me around 4 months.

Already seeing results!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have only been using this product for a few weeks but already my skin is showing visible results which I'm so happy about. At 36 signs of ageing are visible which I am keen to minimise but I know this is a long term maintenance process, so I'm happy this product tackles this while covering my other main concern - breakouts. This is where I have had really quick results. I don't have acne but I get breakouts on my forehead and chin all the time and since using this product new ones have not started at all. I think the appearance of the old breakouts also healed more quickly. The product is easy to use and will definitely last a while - I find 6 drops the perfect amount for face and neck and while it tingled for a moment the first few times I used it, it is not uncomfortable at all for me and goes away very quickly. I'm really happy with this from every perspective, skin is looking much smoother so will continue to use from now on as a main step in my skincare regime.

Best serum for acne skin!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really impressed when I first used this serum as it leaves my skin smooth and look so great. After 1 week, all my blemish has disappeared and I am so happy that I gave it a try. I have never seen any thing like this one and really thankful for this amazing serum. Also, it helps to prevent dark spots that usually leave on my skin after acne but with this serum, no dark spots at all. I usually use Hydrating B5 after applying this Blemish+Age Defense to keep my skin moisturized. This is actually the best serum for acne skin ever!

Used as an on-spot treatment

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Due to the alcohol content, I have only used this as a treatment directly on any spots. I wouldn’t want to use it anywhere else for fear of it drying the skin out. I haven’t had any big spots but this worked well at clearing out overnight a collection of small whiteheads. It has worked well but I think I will look to other products with salicylic acid at a lower price point; I would like to use a similar serum without alcohol over larger pores on my nose and cheeks and this is quite pricey if I’m only to use it as a spot treatment.

Excellent results in a short space of time

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to try this product in the hope it would work on my fine lines and early signs of wrinkles which i suffer from. I also suffer from minor white heads which often turn in to blackheads, which is why I liked the fact this product has Salicylic Acid in it. The serum itself sinks in to the skin easily and almost instantly. In just over a week, my skin feels fresher at the end of the day, and I no longer have access sebum on my skin come evening time. I've also noticed my pores look a lot smaller, especially on my nose, where I notice them the most. The fine lines around my nose also look minimised. I love this product and it's not a staple of my skincare routine.

Wonderful serum for combination skin.

Amazing product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product has worked wonders for me! I suffered from those under the skin bumps and I really feel like this has somehow drawn these out. As an added bonus my nose blackheads have massively improved! It feels soothing and hydrating on the skin, did leave me a tiny bit dry in places but I think I was just from the January cold. Decongestant for spot Prone skin

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can’t say enough good things about this product. I have skin that is prone to congestion due to use of SPF, powders, foundation so you can imagine when I get a few spots that I would try a specific spot cream which then dries out the spot and it looks horrid. Well, since using this it has helped keep my skin clear and not congested so it’s fab to use under make up to keep those spots at bay. I had a few spots and instead of making them look worse as normal spot treatments do, it slowly helped them go down and didn’t cause that crusty look. Sounds gross, but I’m sure you can relate if you are spot prone. It is also anti ageing so at 36 I’m hoping it will help keep my skin looking youthful! Miracle Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using Blemish + Age Defence serum morning and night (after my usual cleanser and toner and then followed up with my usual moisturiser) for approximately 2 weeks now. My skin looks transformed!! I'm prone to breakouts around my jaw and chin, which the serum has completely cleared. I also have an oily t-panel, which seems to have evened out and I can now go the entire day in work without having to touch up my makeup to prevent a shiny-looking forehead/chin/nose. The overall texture of my skin seems better as well and is looking more even-toned and radiant. Aged 40, I actually ventured out to the shops without makeup on the other day and, catching a glimpse of myself in the mirror as I was browsing the clothes racks, thought I was looking pretty good! I've been very impressed with the results in just a short period of time and eager to try other products from the Blemish + Age Defense range to see if this further enhances the effects.

Great product

I've only used this for one week but it has been good so far. I have dry skin, oily T-zone and get acne. I can't comment on the anti wrinkle/fine lines properties yet but it works for blemishes. It helps keep my face spot-free and if I do get a spot it goes away much quicker. I has worked amazingly well for my oily t-zone, it's much better now, almost no oil until late evening. So far my skin is smooth and feels good. I have been using it every day for the past 7 days, morning and evening. My skin is quite sensitive but it hasn't reacted badly, and so far it doesn't feel like it's making it dryer either. Very happy. It absorbs in a few seconds and the skin is left non-sticky, velvety almost.
