I wish it wasn’t so expensive

I have adult acne, and it’s been a pain to treat. I have been on prescription retinol and it’s been a real struggle to balance the dryness from the retinol and the acne spots. I started off initially on the effaclar M treatment used it for a while and didn’t make a difference. When this initially launched, I saw that it targeted adult acne!!!!! I have finished 4 bottles now ! And I can honestly say that I use my retinol less days a week without having spots or PIH. I definitely think it works, but it does take a bit of time for skin to get used to. Also contains salicylic acid.. which is effective but I only use this once a day. I do have to say.. although my skin is a priority and I will carry on using this.. it doesn’t layer well with makeup. I am not sure why.

Disappointed

I got this to use in conjunction with a tretanoin cream I use at night. I’d seen this gel was an azailic acid and recommended to use in the morning following a tretanoin routine at night. I have tried to use it under my make up but it makes a complete mess and make up just rolls off your face and looks uneven. Maybe it’s better for a night routine but not for a girl who likes to wear make up.

Poor performance, i got acne and a itchy skin.

Rashes and Itchy Skin- Not for me

Not the best

I am not a fan of this product. I do love the brand. I use their face wash and moisturizer. But this product in particular is not good on my face. It flakes off into little white pieces whenever I touch my face after applying, even hours later into the day. I’ve been using it for a month so I’ve given it a fair shot but not seeing much improvements either in terms of skin condition. It also doesn’t sit well under makeup due to the flacking. And it’s not cheap either so that’s what sucks as well :(

Flakes off as soon as you touch your skin

This is an expensive product and it’s from a luxury brand. I bought it having read that it is easily absorbed into the skin. I beg to differ! It does not absorb into the skin at all in fact it sits in a thin layer on your skin regardless of how much or how little you use. Once it has been on the skin for a few minutes if you then touch your skin or brush your skin or put a jumper on or try and put any make-up on or anything else that involves your skin being touched in any way shape or form the product flights off prolifically looking like dried flakes of skin . It isn’t dried flakes of skin it’s the product.. how is it of any benefit if it just sits on your skin in a layer rather than being absorbed?

Bought this as a day cream as my skin is prone to acne, I usually wear cc cream on top of the day cream but this one is impossible to combine with.. the cc cream starts to look like lumps when used with this cream.. i suppose you can only wear this during night time when not combined with other products.. very disappointing

An amazing cream

I received a sample and was able to try for a few days. I am very impressed with this cream! I have dry acne prone skin and Im breaking out at the moment with alot of texture. This is clearing my skin right up! The cream is gentle enough for everyday use. I really enjoy it and would recommend to anyone whos got acne or breaks out regularly.

A good choice for acne prone skin

Works great for blind pimples + hyperpigmentation!

I bought this a couple weeks ago and have been using it every other night before the Cicaplast Baume. I've been struggling with hormonal blind pimples and hyperpigmentation scarring and I've seen a reduction in my active breakouts, have far less new pimples popping up and the scarring is visibly reduced! Great combo which helps reduce the risk of damaging my skin barrier and doesn't flare up my sensitive skin

I’ve been using La Roche and CereVe for years but since using this my skin has been terrible. I’ve had a massive breakout the last few weeks that’s worse every day. It’s definitely not worth the price. I’ll switch back to CereVe (same company) for a fraction of the price. Really disappointed. My skin hasn’t been this bad in decades.

Bad residual texture

Can't talk about the results since I started to use it only 2 weeks ago, but I can tell you the cream start to "flakes" 2h after using it and my skin started peeling in certain areas. Not great...

Reduced my pimple pigmentation

Pros - lightweight and hydrating. Leaves skin fresh and soft. Reduces lines and pores. Cons - can peel in the heat. The 40m tube lasts 2 weeks with the recommended 4 pumps per day, making it very expensive.

Absolutely the best skincare

Having acne prone skin even in my early fifties, it’s been difficult to find a lotion to do all the things I need it to do without worrying about an acne flare up. This stuff however is the real deal, it’s doing everything it promises and more and for the first time I am dealing with the best skin I have ever had. The texture of my skin is amazing, the marks have become less defined. It’s only been a few weeks and I am hooked. Will repurchase again and again. Pees/ rolls off

I recently bought this to try for my acne prone skins/ dark spots. With the added hylauronic acid I thought it would be good. The product peels off/rolls off my skin weird shortly after application. Have used 3 times with different steps in my skin care and does it every time. Not super happy that it peels off. Was hoping for good product as the rest of la Roche posay products I use.

Light, Effective, but Slightly Drying

Tried it—light, sinks in fast, matte finish. Helped calm breakouts and even tone within a week. Only watch-out: can feel drying if I don’t layer a bit of extra moisture. Overall, a solid pick for adult, breakout-prone skin.

Lightweight cream

I found it to be really lightweight, which is always a bonus to my combination skin. The formula is rich, meaning you only need a tiny amount of product to cover the whole face. It didn't sit well over a gel serum (from another brand) but that only meant I would use the cream over that serum in the evening. I noticed that it sped the development process of the newly forming pimples, but I don't think the cream itself was the reason for them. I wouldn't say it purged me. It helped to limit sebum production, so I will definitely try the full-sized product, so I can use it for longer and watch the full results.

Great Results With This Product

I suffered really badly with acne when I was a teenager and I still come out in spots now from time to time. I used Effaclar for a week and noticed a massive difference in the radiance of my skin as well as reducing the redness around my forehead which is still prone to spots. Debatable

I am a big fan of La Roche-Posay; have been using it over a decade. This product I received as a sample and would need more than a week to fully review and discuss effects. However, what I can say now is: brilliant texture, only a whif of a scent and quick absorbing. However, I did get a breakout which never happens with Effaclar Duo. Hope this helps future buyers.

The hype is real

I swear this improved my skin in just one day! The texture is incredibly smooth and it layers beautifully under my Toleriane moisturiser. With my dry skin, I was initially worried that the powerful combination of azelaic acid and salicylic acid might be too harsh, but it's turned out to be the best addition to my skincare routine in ages.

What it says it does

I have always been sceptical regarding facial cremes saying that they do what they do. When I saw this advertised I thought let’s give it a go, and that it may end up in the never ending box with all the others. I have been using it for two weeks now and I have to say I’m surprised even after two weeks. Ive noticed my skin is brighter, my aged spots are a little lighter and it’s very light on the skin. Good but effaclar duo+m is better in my opinion.

I bought this product the first day of release and i must say its a pretty good product if you have residual acne marks due to the exfoliating acids present in the products. After a few days i was missing my effaclar duo formulation. This formula is not has mattifying and doesn't works well under makeup it tends to peel a little bit wich effaclar duo don't do. Also there's a huge price difference between the two and effaclar has already wonderful ingredients i don't get why its almost double the price for basically azaleic acid being the main difference. I would recommend it if you need to treat residual acne scars and unifying the skin texture.

Impossible to use

Blemish and marks diminishing cream

The cream does not cause any stinging sensations even though it contains acids. I noticed that it’s helped with my fresh acne marks with a few applications, the marks are lighter in colour and redness is reduced. The formulation not only help to reduce blemishes but also contains hyaluronic acid to plump and fill fine lines in the skin which is perfect to tackle ageing. Hormonal breakouts banished

I expected it to help clear up the 2 spots I had, and maybe clear some of the blackheads I had; however it beat these expectations. Usually I have a hormonal breakout around my chin area during my period; however using the A.Z. Gel Cream I didn't even get one new spot. I like the feel of the gel cream, and it smells nice too. It's definitely a high end product, and looks great on the shelf. I didn't notice any reduction in fine lines; however my skin looked healthy, glowing and I did not have any breakouts. Healthy looking skin

I had never come across such a moisturiser before. It smells really nice, but it's not overpowering and disappears quickly. It spreads easily, but unfortunately, that's where the positives end. It didn't hydrate my blemish-prone adult skin well enough. Even my T-zone was left feeling dry, and I couldn't use it on my drier cheeks or at night. I want to try it again in the summer, but only on my T-zone. A week-long trial isn’t enough to determine if it reduced breakouts or had any effect on early wrinkles. Just because of the nice smell, I want to give it another try next summer and use it for several weeks to see the potential results.

Nothing special

Light gel cream with quick results

So often you are told to use 1 or 2 pumps and it simply isn't enough, but this was just right. The smell was lovely and fresh which is always a bonus. La Roche Posay AZ gel cream

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am overall impressed with this gel cream. My skin is combination oily/dry in places. The cream is lovely and absorbs quickly into the skin. It is not greasy at all. I’ve noticed that since using this gel cream my skin isn’t oily through the day. My make up sits better on my skin. I have noticed less breakouts also.

Good product but not suited to my face

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really enjoyed using this product, I found it to be thick and a quality product. However it did seem to make my skin itch and irritate me a little for some reason and so therefore not suited to my face.

Didn't do anything for my skin

A-Z gel cream

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cream feels very light on the skin but doesn’t really feel all that moisturising, more like a primer. The dry patches of my skin are slightly worse after using but oily skin has cleared of acne. Overall if you have all round oily skin with lots of breakouts this works wonders otherwise it’s not very moisturising. Bottle is stylish and really easy to dispense a good amount of product.

Hydrating

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Loved this, it’s very hydrating while still being light on the skin. I’ve noticed a difference in my pore size and it’s helped with hormonal acne. The bottle is pretty and I like that you can see how much of product you have left.

A great find!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love how quickly this face cream absorbs—it doesn’t feel too wet and dries almost instantly. A little goes a long way, and my skin feels nicely hydrated after use. I tend to get a lot of milia bumps under my eyes, and this actually helped to draw one out, which was a great bonus! Overall, it’s a lightweight, effective moisturiser that leaves my skin feeling refreshed.

Hydrating clearer skin

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's easy to apply twice a day and absorbs well into cleansed skin. My face feels hydrated, though I make sure to apply SPF on top daily. This product contains Azelaic acid, salicylic acid, and hyaluronic acid. It's great for breakouts, and I've noticed my fine lines are less noticeable. Overall, I'm really impressed with this product.

Nice cream
