Wish I'd tried it sooner!

Bought this as a change from the Toleriane cleanser, and I love the consistency! It feels halfway between a cleanser and a moisturiser. Reminds me a lot of the Lipikar body cleanser. Perfect for my combination skin. Also no issues using alongside tretinoin which is a huge plus. Wish I'd tried it sooner!

effective but drying

I have rediscovered this face cleanser recently, I remember buying it when I was on roaccutane for pretty bad acne, and along with the side effects of extremely dry skin from the roaccutane this just made my skin super flaky. About a year later I find it in my drawer (I have mostly clear skin now but have always had a dry/dehydrated skin type) and try it out again as I've been getting stress spots and more combination skin, especially on my forehead. After 2 weeks of using this instead of the toleraine cleansing cream, which is fantastic and very gentle but I feel it doesn't deep clean my skin or remove makeup very well, I can see a difference in that my skin has cleared up around my forehead. I had a lot of closed comedones which have reduced a lot, and the pores either side of my nose around my T-zone are also less clogged. In the interest of giving anyone here the full picture, I have also been using the Inkey List Vitamin C and EGF serum, which I think is a really gentle and mild brightening product/exfoliant. However the positive change has really come about in the last week, so I'll give the cleanser more credit. The reason I put 3 starts is because while I feel it has been clearing my skin, I also feel it is quite drying (I keep getting that nasty tight feeling in the face after cleansing and drying, along with flaky skin between eyebrows and around nostrils) and stings my eyes a lot when I try to get mascara off. I'll probably have to stop using it because of this, which is a bit of a shame. Despite me only cleansing once a day (at night) it is still a bit too harsh. I feel like the formula is almost there, but needs some improvement. would maybe recommend to someone with very oily, non-sensitive skin.

Drying

This product made my skin so dry and sensitive within a week of using. Have stopped using and my skin is back to normal. Shame because I love so many other LRP products but this one is not good

Missing back the previous formulation

I miss the old cream style formulation. It was the best cleanser I’ve ever used! The new formula is too foamy, strips out moisture and leaves my skin tight and flakey. Such a shame!

Feels amazing, and life changing for acne skin.

I don’t normally review products but after reading how many people are saying bring back the old product I had to comment. This is by far the BEST product I have ever used on my face. I have been struggling for years with acne nothing has worked, medication, contraceptive pill, I have spent thousands on products and treatments I reduced my acne with some treatments but ended up with peeling dry horrid looking skin.. which was occasionally worse then the acne itself and painful at times. This product I purchased 4 weeks ago…. It has absolutely changed my life I literally cry happy tears looking at my face now, leaving the house without make up and not avoiding social gatherings due to my face. I was convinced I would just have acne for life. Thank you thank you thank you!!

Really good stuff

I have recently had a transformation skin wise due to this product and the Toleriane Dermallergo Soothing Fluid. They make a great combo and the only products I use daily. Any skin care routine in that past has irritated more than helped. These two are the bomb and leave my face feeling silky smooth like never before. I'm putting this review up because I think all the "bring back the old formula" ones are skewing the review of this product a bit unfairly and I want them to keep the "new" formula.

Hydrating cleanser

This Cleansing Cream aims to compensate skin discomfort and dryness caused by over-drying, anti-blemish treatments. It contains some vital ingredients for your skin enriched with orellana extract shea butter and niacinamide. The Cleansing Cream is lightweight formula which is gentle on your skin. I used this every morning and evening. I gently massged it into my wet skin for around minute and washed it off with warm water. My skin after using this was instantly hydrated smooth and soft to touch. I'd even say it brightened my skin up too. It washed off any dirt and makeup on my skin as well.

Good but can't double cleanse

I bought this face wash because I have sensitive skin but I've found out I can't double cleanse with it when removing make up . When I do I get red inflamed patches under my nose and under my lips. It does have drying ingredients so maybe that's why ? Might be better suited for people with less sensitive skin . Not sure I'd buy this face wash again but I will still buy from the brand

I swear by this face wash

I've been using this face wash for years and I love it, I have combination skin and sebaceous filaments/ large pores. This wash paired with the effaclar moisturiser makes a huge difference, I haven't had any breakouts since using it I think its definitely helped heal my skin barrier from using abrasive products over the years

SO bad. why would you change the old formula??

why - just why? the old effaclar H was a holy grail cleanser for SO many people. devout customers who regularly purchased and repurchased this (not at all inexpensive) cleanser. we INVESTED because effaclar H was a golden product that delivered. and then LRP went and... changed it. why? for what reason? on who's advice? i hope the sales are reflecting what a horrible decision this was, and i hope LRP brings back the old formula while they still have a client base that are longingly waiting for this.

My ride or die cleanser

I am on my 4th bottle of this. As someone with extremely sensitive and dry skin, this has been my saving grace of cleansers. My skin is not only more comfortable, less irritated, clean and hydrated - but it is noticeably more clearer. A little goes a long way which I also love. Definitely worth the investment. I also use it with the ‘Toleriane sensitive crème’ which I have lost count of how many tubes I have gone through - but my skin has never looked or felt better.

Not as good as it used to be

This formula seems to dry out my skin in comparison to the previous original version. I don’t know exactly what been added, but it’s foamy and the original wasn’t, it was far more gentle and my skin absolutely loved it. Now my new problem is finding another product like this. Why would they do this to their customers, especially when the product is for those who have challenged skin. So very disappointing.

Old Formula

I am so dissapointed, I have had constant breakouts and irritation for months since the original formula was discontinued, from what I have seen this seems to be the general consensus from customer who used the previous formula and new customers who have recently trise the microbiome formula. Not great- bring back the old formula

I have used the old formula for years and was very disappointed to find it has been discontinued. Bought this new version instead and it leaves my skin feeling dry and tight whilst the old formula felt cleansing, smooth and hydrating. This new product stings my eyes and is too soapy- I cannot use it to remove makeup whilst cleansing as I did before with the old formula. Really disappointing. Please being back the old formula.

This new formula is not a cream, it’s more of a sticky gel that foams up when washing your face, which is a big no no. I miss the old formula which was a nice calming soft cream. This new one is really drying and leaves your skin feeling tight. I will not be continuing to use the product.

Not for me.

Very disappointing as I used the old effaclar H cleanser and it was great. Kept my skin hydrated and youthful. This new cleanser is drying and leaves my skin tight and flaky. I then spend time applying hydrating creams causing break outs. Bought 2. What a waste of money.

Helps my oil flakey irritated skin-confidence boos

This face wash along with the lotion has almost transformed my problem area, T-zone into a something manageable that I do not think I have had in really long time. It is really helping me recover my skin barrier. please do not stop making this!. It feels so good to know that those little plugs on my nose were becoming oxidized and brown and had to be picked out because something was not right with my skin barrier. It is the best feeling in world to be able to wash face, put lotion on and not have to worry about crap sticking out of your pores. This is really changing my skin and I love it. I will say I also use benzoyl peroxide which I had never dared to use on my T-zone and I am sure that is helping as well but I am only able to do that because the face wash is gentle enough and the cream is hydrating enough. All I know is that I get a full day of less oily skin. Please do not stop making this and bring this to the USA if possible. I have to buy expensive from over seas :(..hope there is someone out there listening.

Break outs

Used the old formula for a long time and it was fantastic! Been using this new one for about 2 months now, immediately had break outs when started using it but I stuck with it in the hopes it was just my skin getting used to a change in product. Turns out this one is just terrible, super drying, so many spots. The more I use it the redder my skin gets. So upset as now will have to try some different brands and throw this one away. I'm in pain

My skin is not overly sensitive but it likes to react to certain things. Recently I noticed some "imperfections" and I thought this cleanser would be perfect - soothing, for sensitive skin, what could possibly go wrong? I used it twice. After first morning my skin was very dry, I didn't have such dry skin after washing my face for years. I gave it another chance the next mand it was a mistake. My face became red and extremely irritated, it became so dry I thought it would come off. The skin is so sore my whole face just hurts and my eyes are watery. That was yesterday and I still feel the concequences. It will take some time and effort to get my skin back to normal. Don't buy thing product, it's not only a waste of money, you can seriously harm yourself. I cannot fathom how it can be recommended for sensitive, dehydrated skin.

Devastated

Like many others I struck gold with the old formula. After years of bad skin it was finally manageable for the year I was using it! Can’t describe how upsetting it is that they changed the formula to a foaming cleanser. The creamy formula worked wonders! The new formula is ruining my skin

I've used the Effaclar H Cleansing Cream in its previous iteration for years. It was my favorite cleanser: hydrating, gentle, and it didn't break me out. The new formula is abysmal. It's more of a foaming cleanser now, so it feels stripping. My skin is drier than before, the barrier is compromised, and I'm getting spots daily when they used to be a weekly occurrence. Why they have added shea butter I will never know, as this is known to be comedogenic for many with acne-prone skin (yet it's branded as 'non-comedogenic'). I really hope the old formula is brought back. Changed to Avène, whose Cleanance line has a similar product to the old LRP formula (non-foamy, no shea butter, not stripping).

Gentle yet effective

Soothing & moisturising on my acne-prone skin

So sad that this formula has been updated/changed. My husband and I used it for years and really think our clear skin was due to the fantastic cleanser. Unfortunately the new formula is more drying/harsher and now we are both dealing with break outs first time in years and our skin feels tight after showering. It feels more chemically and soap like. Luckily we had a few spare bottles from previous orders we found in the cupboard and instantly our skin is feeling better... but I know they will run out soon! Good, not overcomplicated cleanser.

I don't use waterproof mascara or long-wear makeup, but it cleansed perfectly my tinted spf. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the bottle. I don't know what it is, but I find this bottle a bit flimsy. Would be brilliant in a pump version.

Rich luxurious body wash

Great for my sensitive skin!

My skin always feels so tight and dehydrated after any wash, even if it's just water. I tried a lot of items but couldn't find “the perfect” one. This one works fantastic. I don't feel such an urge to put something imminently after wash. Leave you with a fresh feeling after wash.

New formula doesn't work for me.

For some reason the Effaclar H cleanser and moisturiser formulas have been changed significantly. Really upset about this as it used to be the kindest cleanser I'd ever used, and it previously saw me through cystic acne followed by harsh accutane treatment. The new formula cleanser is now too drying for my skin and I'm also suffering breakouts again for the first time in years. This new formula won't be repurchased in my house once it's empty.

A pleasant surprise

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a little unsure about this product when I first received it in case it was a little too foamy/drying but seeing as I swear by Effaclar Duo and the Effaclar Serum, I decided to give it a fair chance. VERY impressed. I massage onto a dry face morning and second PM cleanser, add water to emulsify and it does foam every so slightly but it’s not stripping in the slightest. It leaves me with very clean feeling skin without being squeaky and overall calm and balanced. A great addition to my routine, plus hubby loves it too!

Beautiful cleanser

I have older skin that gets dehydrated quite easily and find that many cleansers, especially foaming ones, can leave my skin with that tight feeling. However, i think the shea butter (or something) is causing some acne spots (im prone to fungal acne that feeds on oils like shea) So wont be using againg. But its definitely gentle on the skin otherwise.

One handy product

Amazing product.

It doesn’t dry out my skin which is very important for me and helps to retain moisture while clearing out impurities.

A fantastic foaming cleanser

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this cleanser. I have been using it every night after micellar water to fully remove make up and cleanse my skin. I have been following it with a simple routine of hyaluronic acid and the effaclar h moisturiser and my skin has never been better. It is clean, clear and comfortable. A little goes a long way, I think this tube will last ages.

A non irritating body wash.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this as a body wash. My skin is sensitive and really itches with fragranced products. Although this does have a fragrance (lovely), it really did not irritate or dry out my skin. my skin felt soft and moisturised.

Great face/body wash!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great facial wash (or body wash) for sensitive skin. It’s non-drying and very gentle. It’s a good consistency too, sometimes I find the sensitive wash’s a little thick but this is great. I definitely recommend.

Silky smooth skin

Perfect Cleanser to help combat drying side effects of acne treatments

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My skin is very sensitive and flaky after using my retinal treatment. I am so glad i found this cleanser. After using it consistently, Ive noticed it helps soothe my skin and cleanses my skin each time. Its powerful enough to remove make up and impurities when used as a double cleanse. Even after a few days Ive noticed my skin to be less flaky and more hydrated. It works best when used with the Effaclar H Moisturising Cream especially when using strong acne treatments which can dry out the skin.

Creamy cleanser great for oily and senstive skin

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is such a gentle but effective cleanser, it can be used for the whole family. I use it as part of my daily skincare routine as my second cleanser. I have sensitive skin that can get dried out, but not with this product. I also have mild blemishes and it's good to know I'm using something that will help to control these. I also have very oily skin but this product cleans without stripping my skin (which is bad for oily skin!).

Great for sensitive, acne-prone skin

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had some health issue recently, which threw my complexion out of whack. Ive been getting lots of small but painful spots on my chin and around the nasal fold. My complexion was also dry and irritated in parts due to new medication. I upsed this cleanser as the 2nd step of my cleasing routine. In combination with the other effaclar products i use, i saw a huge difference in less than a week. Its non-drying, creamy and foams really well. My complexion felt cleansed, but not stripped. Highly recommend for sensitive, combination skin which is prone to blemishes

Soothing cleanser

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found this soothing cleanser really helped with my dry skin (I’ve used too many acid products on my face recently and struggled with irritated skin which has dried out and gone all red). It’s recovering now which I think has gone quicker thanks to this cleanser.

Great for clearing up body acne/blemishes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I prefer to use it for my body rather than on my face. I have body acne/blemishes and this wash has been perfect for that. When I use it on my very sensitive face I find it leaves my skin bit tight after continuous use (every now and then is fine). But I imagine if your skin isn't as sensitive this wash would be great for you.

Sadly not for my face

This skin wash is impressive

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used it along the Effaclar H cream moisturises during my beach holidays. Small amount of the cream goes a long way, skin feels smooth to touch not tense or dry after washing, no irritations. After washing I applied Effeclar H cream both seem to be working excellent and keep my skin well hydrated.

Nice cleansing cream

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really lovely cleansing cream, however the only reason it has been given 4 stars instead of 5 as it doesn't lather up, so it comes off quickly, so you end up using more. However saying that it leaves a lovely feeling on the skin. Skin is left moisturised and hydrated.

Kind and gentle to sensitive skin

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have sensitive rosacea prone skin so I would say my skin is very delicate. I really like this cleanser as it doesn’t irritate my skin at all after use. Some cleansers I have used in the past have caused my skin to have a burning sensation. This cleanser is very soothing. I only need to put a little on and my skin feels clean and refreshed. It also doesn’t make my skin feel tight. Nor does it make my skin go red after use. This cleanser doesn’t say it is formulated for rosacea prone skin but in my opinion it’s fantastic for very sensitive skin like mine as it is so gentle.

Great cleanser.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don’t normally use a cleanser on my skin, and prefer to use just water with maybe a little unperfumed soap, but thought I would give this cleanser a try. I am pleasantly surprised as to how clean my skin looks and also the glow it appears to give following using it. Only a little is needed to be applied to the skin as it takes a while to get it off if you use too much, a mistake I made the first time I used it. I am definitely going to continue using this product for my nightly facial routine.

This one is not for me

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found the cleansing cream leaves my skin dry. I have used this a few times as I am now back in the office and my face felt dryer than normal and it was not even the end of the day yet. Where I have not used the cleansing cream and just continued with the face wash and day moisturiser my skin feels great.
