Gentle Cleanser

I switched from an unscented mild cleanser I had used for many years and unfortunately SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser is not going to be my choice going forward. It has an off-putting citrus (orange zest?) scent. It is also quite moisturizing so my skin feels tacky and not clean when I rinse it off. It also costs a lot more!

Horrible product

This product was awful. It left my skin instantly dry and irritated, like I had used acid. No amount of moisturizer could fix it. Never again.

You’ll be hooked!

It’s the only face cleanser I’ll use. I’ve tried others and nothing compares. I wear a full face of makeup every day, and this product works wonders for removing it. It smells divine (citrus) and the texture is creamy. A small amount goes a long way. Highly recommend.

A standout cleanser!

Great skin cleanser. One of my favorites and my new go-to. When scrubbing off eye make-up, I can get the product in my eyes with no irritation. Removes make-up and rinses off well in the shower or with a wet cloth. Leaves just enough moisture on the skin in preparation of layering other Skin Ceuticals products. I will be re-ordering for sure as I like to keep one in the shower and one on my bathroom counter.

Not worth the money

Unfortunately I cannot use, as after a couple of days has broken my skin out in a red like, itchy rash. Considering it’s meant to be a gentle cleanser, I would not recommend. My skin feels stripped after using it. Also when received the bottle wasn’t even full to the top!

Not good

I adore skin ceuticals but honestly this product is terrible,it absolutely does not clean make up of my face, I need at least 3 pumps of product and I’m still not clean, the simply clean face wash would do it in half a pump so I will go back to that one .

I don't know what I would do without this

I have been using this 2016. I cannot live without it and panic when it is out of stock. It makes my face feel so clean and soft. It removes dead skin and texture build up so I look renewed and bright. No harshness or sticky residue afterwards. My favorite. Don't ever reformulate it or stop producing it, its perfect as it is.

Fantastic all round cleanser

I adore this cleanser! I've been getting peels done over the past few months and 3 days prior and 7 days after a peel, I have to stop using any products with acids in it. I don't have to stop using this cleanser at any point, because it doesn't contain any acids and is super gentle, moisturising but very effective. I no longer need to double cleanse as this removes make up too - 2.5 pumps and it cleanses my whole face. Paired with the Equalizing toner, C E Ferulic and UV Brightening Advanced SPF 50 (both AM only), I have finally found my perfect skincare routine having tried many many many other brands over the years!

Best cleanser I have ever used!

the best cleanser for sensitive skin

A cleanser for everyone!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After using this product I understand why it is an award winner. I have to admit before use I was apprehensive, as I have oily/combination skin. Because of my skin type I usually only go for gel cleansers, however, I sometimes find them quite drying on the areas other than my t-zone. This gentle cleanser is wonderful to use. It has a luxurious feel and a really nice smell to it, making it a pleasant experience when cleansing. I always double clease when wearing make-up. I use a micellear cleansing water for my first cleanse, and then follow with the gentle cleanser for my second cleanse. My skin always feels clean, calm and balanced after using the gentle cleanser. For the first time I have clean skin but no tight feeling after cleansing. I am in my early thirties, and have hormonal breakouts and anti-aging concerns - this product works so well for me, but I can confidently say that I think it would work for anyone. It's gentle, calming and gives a powerful cleanse - all that you need from a cleanser. I also really like the pump bottle that it comes in, with the twist top that enables you to close it (particularly good when travelling).

Feels and smells lovely and my skin looks good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using this once or twice a day for about a month. I have mild adult acne as well as issues with enlarged pores and mild acne scarring. The product smells amazing and feels delightful on the skin, and a bottle lasts a long time as you don't need much. I haven't noticed a huge difference in my skin but it is certainly looking healthy, and clearer than it has in the past. The only thing I would criticise is the fact that it doesn't always remove all of my makeup, and I only wear tinted SPF moisturiser/BB cream. Please note I accidentally uploaded this review to the wrong product recently (the Equalizing Toner) and unfortunately I can't amend it. :-/ However all of this also applies to the toner except the last sentence.

Beautifully gentle!

Have been using for 2 weeks and LOVE it. I have aging, combination skin which is prone to hormonal break outs. This thick and ultra hydrating cleanser is gentle yet effective in calming my skin. The orange scent is devine.

Great Cleanser

Amazing Product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great product that was first recommended to me by my dermatologist. I used to suffer with very bad acne, however as my skin was very sensitive many of the specific acne products caused my skin to appear very red. This product caused absolutely no irritation, and does not leave the skin feeling tight and dry like some cleansers do. Now after using this product every night and just simply putting the B5 serum on after, my skin has never been better. My skin is now less sensitive, but I still keep this with me wherever I go. I now use a stronger cleanser (Blemish + Age) which does have slightly better results for the acne, however I continue to use this as and when I feel like my skin needs a break.

It is what it says- a gentle cleanser

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a gentle cream cleanser this is great. It is mild, and really does leave your skin feeling hydrated and not tight after washing. I do find it to be quite highly fragranced though. While the smell is lovely, an pleasant orange fragrance- I imagine from the orange oil, I do find it a little strong and found I can taste a little as I rinise off the cleanser. As I say it’s a pleasant fragrance, I just wish it wasn’t as strong. The cleanser claims to ‘remove long wear makeup’ and is suitable to remove eye makeup also. I tested this multiple times and found this to be true, also removing my sunscreen which I wear daily also. So it’s great for that! However I did find it didn’t work well for waterproof mascara, so I needed to use a separate cleanser first on days I chose to wear that. All in all, the cleanser does exactly as described, has a pleasant thick cream texture which melts onto your skin as your massage, removing makeup. I have been following up with the toner and found them to work well together.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm always skeptical when a cleanser promises to remove all makeup in just one step, but this is the first one I have come across that actually manages it! As an advocate of the double cleanse I really thought I would need to use my usual second cleanser after this but I was wrong. It removed a full face of makeup and suncream and left me with lovely clean skin. I massaged a few pumps in to my skin for around a minute which I think is the key to getting a good result and when I used a toner afterwards the cotton wool pad was clean. The cleanser smells fantastic, a light citrus smell that isn't overpowering but makes it a joy to use. It is a lovely cream consistency that doesn't lather or foam so it didn't leave my skin feeling tight afterwards either. The bottle comes with a pump so there is no mess when dispensing the product. I can't recommend this cleanser enough.

A really effective, gentle cleanser

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I usually use a hot-cloth cleanser and double-cleanse. I normally use a micellar water to get the bulk of my makeup/sunscreen off, then use either a cream cleanser or cleansing oil to remove the remainder. This cleanser was perfect to use to get the day's grime and makeup off gently, quickly and effectively. What I look for in a cleanser is quick and easy to use, feels like it's actually working hard to dissolve everything. Some of the things I like about it are: 1. This one feels like you could use as a traditional hot cloth cleanser, but also as a rinse-off cleanser in the shower, so it does it all (not more need for a separate rinse-off cleanser). I am always looking to simplify and streamline my routine and avoid spending money on unnecessary additional products, so this is ideal. 2. It gets everything off my face effectively without scrubbing away at it. One of the issues I have had with using greasier balms and oils is that they are great at dissolving the makeup etc, but are difficult to get off your skin with flannel, leading to excessive rubbing and a potential residue. This cleanser left no residue and removes completely cleanly. 3. It doesn't foam, or irritate or dry the skin. The fragrance is very subtle and pleasant. I felt comfortable using it around my eyes. 4. A very lovely texture: creamy and with enough 'body' to massage it in, but light enough to remove easily. All in all a really great, hardworking, all-rounder, gimmick-free product!

Gentle yet powerful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use SPF under my make up and it can clog my pores and so my skin really needs a good clean at night (especially after the gym) but my usual cleanser tends to dry my skin out afterwards but with this one I find my skin is smooth, cleansed, soft and without any tightness. I also wash my face twice a day and after a deep cleanse at night I don't fancy using a harsh cleanser in the morning so this is perfect for the morning too as it is non-drying and super gentle and can I just say, it smells amazing, a little like neroli!

A thorough cleanse

Lovely cleanser

Gentle cleanser with great results

I was sceptical that this could remove make up and sun screen - but it does. I have been used to doing a double cleanse, so decided to use a small amount of this product all over face and then rinse and repeat. My skin feels squeaky clean afterwards, but not at all dried out. New favourite cleanser!

I bought this cleanser after experiencing it during an LED facial at a spa. Initially it was the smell that made me ask what they’d used. It’s a lovely light orange scent and I became convinced I needed this in the lead up to Christmas! I’ve never really experienced cleansers that felt like they did much other than remove makeup.   However with this cleanser I really noticed a difference in my skin. I have combination skin, tight and dry across my cheeks but oily and more acne prone across the forehead.  It’s really gentle on my skin and it doesn’t leave my skin tight afterwards. Because of this I don't end up over moisturising and blocking my pores which is always the trap I fall into! If I’ve had no makeup on or very light then I cleanse with this alone. However if wearing very heavy makeup / waterproof spf then I find I do need to use something beforehand. Either a precleanser or micellar water. My skin is so comfortable and balanced the following morning I often don’t cleanse again which I feel is really improving my skin barrier.
