Great sensitive cleanser!

Used a sample for removing my makeup, now I know this is meant as a cleanser but it did a pretty good job of removing my makeup! Left my skin feeling really good too.

Réaction gonflement

J’ai acheté ce produit pensant qu’il était fait pour les peaux sensibles et d’une bonne composition. En réalité je n’ai pas la peau très sensible mais j’essaie de faire attention à ce que je mets sur mon visage. Malheureusement dès la première utilisation j’ai vu apparaître un gonflement sur mes joues. J’ai donc j’ai voulu ressayer une semaine plus tard lorsque les gonflements ont réduit et même résultat. Je vais donc jeter ce produit, j’ai perdu mon argent et suis déçue.

For a cleanser designed for sensitive/reactive skin, it made my skin react, itchy and swelled. My skin is normally reactive but I thought this product was formukated for my type of skin. I thought this was very odd. Disappointed, not the first time I hear about this.

So-so

The jury's still out on this one. I have rosacea and while this is relatively mild, my skin always gets super red after I use it. It subsides relatively quickly, but i'm always surprised when it gets so red. Other LRP products seem to have a less intense impact on my skin. That said, i'm yet to find a better alternative product, so for the time being this will do.

My skin had been so bad for around 6mths this year that I became extremely embarrassed & unhappy & at a loss as to what the cause was. That said I turned to LRP which had always been my saviour without needing to visit a dermatologist. Within a few days my skin felt & looked more calm. After a couple of weeks of using this cleanser along with the toner & light moisturiser my skin was well on the way to recovery. For a troubled skin I can’t recommend LRP more highly. A great cleanser for sensitive skin

I buy this time and time again. It’s a very good cleanser, not at all greasy, very effective. Removes make up easily. I follow with a mousse cleanser with water and that’s my double cleanse routine. The large size is very economical.

The reset my damaged barrier needed

Not My Product!

Decided to try this product as it comes in a larger pump bottle. Not a fan as it feels like it leaves a film on my skin. Having said that, it may be better for different skin types. Prefer the other Toleriane cleanser.

This isn’t a cleanser. It’s just glycerin. You put it on a cotton pad and wipe your makeup off with it. It leaves a heavy film on your face. I’d give it a zero if I could. Total waste of money.

Best gentle cleanser

So gentle that it works on my extremely sensitive skin! After washing my face my skin feels moisturiser and not dry or tight at all! I can now wash my face several times a day without worrying about my skin drying. Because you can wipe it off too, instead of rinse, it's convenient to clean your face anywhere.

Product is a Treasure

I have been using some version of a soapless Toleriane cleanser for 20 years. This particular product would be about 8-10 years for me. Long story about my skin but it's ultra sensitive/reactive and thinning. I'm writing this review to help with the issue of the cleanser sometimes not removing everything or leaving a film (which I need). I have found the cleanser can be used in different ways. Straight onto a pad, cotton or washable, to remove makeup. Straight onto a damp washcloth to remove sunscreen. In hand and then onto the face like an old fashioned cream cleanser, without adding water, to remove make-up. Then add water to thin and remove with a washcloth. Straight on like a cream cleanser and then washed off in the shower. Mixed with water to thin and then rinsed or removed with a washcloth. I use a damp, wrung-out, soft velour-type washcloth, and avoid scratchy linen and terry cloth. I know sometimes a second pass is needed for tricky areas or products like sunscreen, but this product is a zero damage, skin healing and protecting treasure if you have sensitive skin. Along with Syndet, which can also be used on the face to double cleanse, it's in every bathroom in my house.

Most gentle yet effective cleanser!

I bought this cleanser recently as I was looking for something really gentle for my skin. I'd tried a few different cleansers and creams in the last few months and had some reactions so I needed to heal my skin. This cleanser is extremely gentle on sensitive skin and also helped with my redness and breakout (from other products). My skin felt much better (not as sore) and it feels really nice and cooling on the skin. It's also helped to keep my skin really clear! This will be my go to from now on!

A let down

I have used multiple of the La Roche Posay products and absolutely love them but this particular cleanser has been a disappointment. I had to incorporate using makeup pads to be able to effectively remove my makeup and spf products and it left my skin feeling greasy and my pores clogged. I tired to persevere but have only used 1/4 and have now disregarded this bottle.

Finally a cleanser that doesn’t irritate my skin. I’m a long time Rosacea sufferer who is forever trial and erroring cleansers. At long last I can stop looking. Does everything it claims. Great product and very gentle but to gentle to remover my Mae up. I wash it off with water and then repeat it too make sure. I don't wear a lot, some bb cream, powder and non waterproof mascara

Lovely cleanser

I was told by a doctor at the skin clinic to stop using face washes and all moisturisers and makeup and therefore makeup remover in an attempt to calm perioral dermatitis and rosacea. She suggested the toleraine range, and this is alongside taking three months of antibiotics. I was skeptical, especially not using moisturiser, but can honestly say I would not go back. This cleanser is the best thing. I still use water in my face but my skin feels soft and moisturised and has no need for moisturiser. Occasionally I wish I could slather on some cream but as to which one I’m not sure yet. Everything is so expensive!

Disappointed

I bought this product based on a recommendation from my aesthetician and the product representation that it cleanses and removes makeup. I wear minimal makeup - essentially concealer and mascara (non waterproof). I followed the instructions but had to cleanse 4 times to remove the mascara. I wanted to love this product but did not find that it lives up to its claims. Sadly I will be returning this product and am not keen to try other products from La Roche Posay.

Sensitive skin

This is the only face cleanser I have ever found that I don't react to. I have been through multiple cleansers over the years aimed at sensitive skin, and developed burning and peeling and sometimes wheezing with all of them. I have always avoided washing my face, usually just using a bit of water. Because of sensitivities I rarely use makeup so this has been possible. But I wanted to use sunscreen more regularly. After a lot of trial and error, and reactions, I found this. No stripping, no peeling. Minimal ingredients. No smell. I use it as the second part of a cleanse, the first part consists of either mineral oil, or micellar water. This cleanser is too expensive and parting with the money makes me nervous, but this is the only thing which works and there arent any dupes for this. I don't even bother with moisturiser afterwards. Just amazing stuff.

Doesn't remove makeup

As a cleanser, this might be fine, but it doesn't remove makeup well. (Dear La Roche-Posay, please don't reply to me with your explanations on how to use it - I am an adult, I do know how to use a cleanser :) The problem is not my cleanser using technique, this is your product not being good at removing makeup). So if you are looking for an actual makeup remover, try their Respectissime Waterproof Eye Make-Up Remover - that one is really good. This one - nope.

Disappointed With Performance

I was a bit disappointed with this cleanser. It is quite difficult to remove and I found makeup residue on my towel after using. So, as a makeover remover, it’s not great. I wish the Efficlar H Cleansing Cream was still available.

Neither cleansers remove make-up so I have reverted back to my previous cleanser. The sunscreen is much runnier than the sample product I trialled. Did I order the wrong one ? The moisturiser although good - is not value for money considering just how small the container it is in. A bit disappointing overall with my purchases.

Amazing basic cleanser

Absolutely love this cleanser. It leaves my skin feeling very clean and soft. Bonus that it doesn’t irritate my eyes at all. I have combination, sensitive skin that is prone to the occasional spot. Harsh cleansers do my skin no favours and this one is perfect. I’ve repurchased this 3 times now. I love the 400ml bottle with the pump as it’s so convenient to use.

Tried and true

I tend to try different cleansers but always end up reverting to this one as I know it's gentle and won't strip my skin. I do need to go in with micellar water beforehand when wearing makeup and SPF but that is to be expected with a gentle wipe-off cleanser. Highly recommend!

Gentle cleanser

Great Milk Cleanser

I have been using this cleanser since last year when lock down started. I usually use a facial wash however when we went into lock down last year my skin literally dried out over night and became very sensitive. This facial milk is great for taking off make up and general cleansing, it does not irritate my skin and is no greasy so a great all round product.

lifesaver for sensitive eyes & skin!

a gentle cleanser and makeup remover i can’t recommend more. I have sensitive eyes and need to remove makeup including mascara in evenings with something no irritating or i wake up with frog eyes! this soothing cleanser is beautifully unscented, a lovely texture, and once massaged into skin, removes everything. I rinse then use a warm chamois to be sure i’m squeaky clean. Skin feels moisturised and fresh, even before serum and moisturiser.

Disappointed at first

I bought this cleanser as it is designed to help with redness. The first few weeks of using it I hadn’t bothered buying it. But I have since noted my skin seems less red. I agree with other reviews about the greasy feeling, but I seem to have sorted that by using muslin cloths to wash away the cleanser. All I need now is to workout a wrinkle miracle cure

Good for morning but not for night

I have been happily using Clinique for years but decided to try La Roche-Posay after a recent perioral dermatitis (rosacea) break out. I am also using several prescription skin treatments including Retrieve, Epiduo and Rozac so my skin is quite fragile and sensitive. I chose this particular cleanser because the packaging said it was suitable for face AND eyes whereas others said they were not suitable for eyes. This is a nice morning cleanser as it leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth however, I am disappointed with it as a night cleanser. Even after a double cleanse, rinsing with water and a face washer there is still makeup residue on the toner cotton pad. Perhaps this is more suitable for people who don’t wear make up.

Pore clogging ingredients

I love that it is gentle on sensitive skin but I wish that it didn't contain known pore cloggers such as Ethylhexyl Palmitate...it's hard to find acne safe products for sensitive skin. Guess I need to continue searching...

Sadly irritating for me

I have been using this cleanser since last year, and I hope that La Roche-Posay never discontinues it! I have rosacea and extremely sensitive skin - up until finding this cleanser, I had tried lots of different types but all would flare up my redness or cause my skin to sting, or dry it out. It's lovely to use - a silky cream consistency that is easily to wash off, and if my skin is feeling too sensitive for that, I remove it with a cotton wool pad and it still leaves my skin feeling clean. I would recommend this to anyone who has sensitive, and problematic skin issues like rosacea!

Great for allergic skin

For several years I've suffered with contact dermatitis due to allergies and thought I'd never find a cleanser I could use. I couldn't even use baby lotion or simple face wipes. I got a sample of this so decided to give it a try and haven't looked back since. It's not cheap but it's worth it if you are limited what you can use. It leaves your skin feeling nice and soft too. I've now also got a La Roche moisturiser.
