Don’t recommend

So I got this because I have oily acne prone skin however when I put it on my face after using the cleanser from the same effaclar line, my skin was burning and red. It is too strong and I don’t have sensitive skin but the alcohol really really irritated my face and I don’t think I will use this toner ever again to be honest.

Works wonders for my skin

I started using this product about 2 years to improve some skin issues, such as enlarged pours m, blemishing, uneven skin tone, oil skin. I would say alongside other products/ vitamins I am using this has significantly helped reduced my oily skin and enlarged pours. It's a product I keep topped up and would definitely recommend.

Horror

After reading such good reviews I was tempted to buy it. After the first use my skin started to look bad. Nevertheless I didn't give up and tried again. Now my skin burns and itches, and I have the worst break out I've ever had. I trusted a well-known brand, I thought the composition would be good. Now I read and I'm terrified. Seriously, a toner with alcohol? Alcohol has a dehydrating effect, which leads to water loss from the epidermis, a feeling of tightness and roughness of the skin. In addition: - Irritates and causes inflammation - Damages the protective barrier - disturbs the balance of the microbiome and pH - increases sebum production. Horrible, now I have wounds on my face. I can't leave the house! I regret that I didn't read the composition before buying, what stupidity.

Fresh and cleaner skin

I have been using the La Roche Posay Effaclar astringent for the past 3 months. I brought it as I have oily combination skin. This astringent gently exfoliates and cleanses. After using it, my skin feels so clean and refreshed. Since using this astringent, I've noticed that my skin is looking less oily and my pores aren't as large. This astringent is specially formulated for oily and blemish prone skin. It helps to eliminate excess oil and reduce pore size. It's safe for sensitive skin and can be used to remove excess make-up. I mainly use it after cleansing my skin. Key ingredients include: Lipo Hydroxy Acid Glycerin Hydrgenared castor oil Salicylic acid The only downside for me is that it does have fragrance in it.

I’ve been using this toner for 15 years. The only product I’ve found that keeps blackheads at bay. You just have to give it time, people! It’s not making you breakout. It’s unclogging your pores. There’s a big difference.

It broke me out so bad and I had to discontinue using it, I was so excited to try it when I read the reviews. It dried out my face so much and made me break out as well, now my face feels very rough. I barely used it for a week. I honestly do not recommend this for sensitive skin.

I have recently included using a toner in my skin care routine and I can honestly say that it has drastically improved my skins absorption rate of product and provides a refreshing sensation - This product works well for me, as I have extremely sensitive skin and my face can become oily quick, which is not an issue using this product. I'm not sure about the "Micro-exfoliants" aspect, as it seems to be just pure liquid in my mind. However, this product works for me and I love it!

Avoid! Burns!

I bought this a few weeks ago and I have used it three times. The first two times were alright. On the third time, my skin was on fire! I tried to wash it off but nothing was working. Ended up putting ice on my face. It left me so red, blotchy, and irritated. I have combination skin and thought this would help with my trouble spots. But I am better off without it.

Lovely toner

Great toner

I use it on a toner step mostly at evenings. It makes my skin feel clean and refreshed. It takes away dead skin cells and sebum, which clears blackheads over time. Great for prevention of blemishes too. I used this toner along with Effaclar Duo + and Effaclar purifying gel and had great results.

New holy grail

Super gentle on face. I have used tons of brands and this is by far the gentlest astringent I ever used. I was skeptical at first because all the other ones sting. And they said if it stings, that means it’s working. But this brand doesn’t sting and after a few days of using I can already see improvements.

Finally feeling good!

I bought this a couple of months ago along with the effaclar duo moisturiser, serozinc spray, and cleansing gel. It took a month but my skin finally cleared up! I’ve had cystic acne for years, with none of the regular supermarket brands able to even touch it without making it worse. I tried this combination and my skin feels so much better. The clarifying lotion feels soothing and dries my usually oily skin up without it drying it out too much. I read reviews about it stinging but I have only experienced that when my breakouts are sensitive, otherwise it feels quite soothing.

Good but not yet great

I bought lotion few months ago and it's very efficient. Smell nice. I would recommend it to everyone if doesn't have alcohol as the second(!), so main, ingredient - it cleans skin well but also dries! I need to moisture face immediately. Happy to use it as cleaning effect is perfect but hydration after usage is a must

I have been using the same toner for years in fear I'll aggravate my sensitive skin. After suffering with a hormonal flare up I found the Effaclar range and bought the kit. It's a great toner, and I use it in the evening followed by the moisturiser. So far I haven't had any negative reaction to it, and will repurchase.

It stings!!

I have been using this product for 3 weeks now and it stung EVERYTIME I used it at night for a week. So I only used it twice a week for the past 2 weeks and it still stung on my face as I used it. Really wanted for this work. No visible redness or reactions. It just felt horrible on my skin :( No visible improvement on my skin, pores and uneven skin tone too. I stopped using it.

Magic in a bottle

I picked this up on a whim, looking for something to help tame a breakout and smooth out the texture of my skin. I had white large pores on my nose and chin with visible sebaceous filaments and some lumps and bumps along my jaw line that have bothered me for years. While I picked this up for a breakout, i was happily surprised to see that after only 2 days, it has also helped to visibly reduce my pore size and smooth out those bumps, along with helping to dry out and heal my acne flare up. Honestly I don’t know how this is working so quickly, but I’ll definitely be reordering and recommending to everyone I know.

I have been using this product for two months now, I mayst say I am very impressed. I use it after my night time face wash followed by a glycolic acid and my usual face moisturizer. I notice a huge difference in areas where I normally have blackheads, there are barley even any blackheads and my pores seem much smaller then they normally are. I would highly recommend.

The number one thing you should NEVER put on your face, ESPECIALLY for oily skin is ALCOHOL. The minute you open this bottle, it’s all you smell. Tried to using it anyway and of course I completely broke out. Huge waste of money. They don’t show you the bad reviews, only the good one, which is why I got tricked into buying this overpriced garbage. All natural products are the ONLY way to go, folks. And it’s a lot cheaper.

Amazing product!

My skin has always been very clear but in the last few months I've been having issues with whiteheads and spots. I tried exfoliating more often and using a stronger exfoliator but nothing seemed to be helping. I have only used this product for the last 4 days (twice a day) and I can already see a big difference. The whiteheads have reduced by at lot and my skin has started to clear up. I also bought the Effaclar Duo+ which seems to be working well too.

Happy With this product!!

I used the Effaclar Spotsscan and it recommended this product. I have sensitive, oily skin with dry patches. I've been using it for about a week and I like it! I use the hyalu serum, and cicaplast baume b5 as well, and overall I've noticed that my face is less oily at the end of the day. It's very gentle on my skin and I really like using it!

Too boring, doesn't do much

I bought this product with my own money, this is an honest non-sponsored review, I do not work for this brand nor am I affiliated with the L'Oreal Group in any sort of way so you know that my opinion is what I honestly believe. I wasn't a fan of this toner, it stung and burned my skin a little bit... Not too much but it doesn't have much going for it other than Lipo Hydroxy acid which is a L'Oreal developed modified form of salicylic acid. I did a pH test and it was somewhere between a 5 and 6, I think it was more like 5.5 if I remember correctly which is around the skin's natural pH. The good thing about LHA is that it can exfoliate at the skin's natural pH. There's no mention of the percentage of LHA in this product so it's hard to judge it, I only used it briefly, it's just nothing special to be honest and the alcohol was a bit drying but I get it, it's an astringent toner. It is lightly scented, you can smell the fragrance, it is enough to overpower the smell of alcohol, it's sort of a spa scent but it dissipates I wanna say almost immediately but I can't quite remember but I don't think it lingered, it didn't bother me though because if it did I would remember. I really wish western toners were alcohol free and more elaborate. I wish they included ceramides and other beneficial ingredients, it's just too dull... too boring to recommend, I highly doubt this alone will clear up your acne, it's probably just to de-grease your skin and give slight exfoliation with the LHA. But don't get too excited, your sebum will return not too long after you apply this cause that's just the nature of oily skin, your oil glands will keep producing sebum
