Moreover, it has a positive effect on the reduction of sebum from the skin. Great gel cream

I prefer gel texture creams as they feel cooling and refreshing and feel a lot lighter on my skin. It absorbs quickly making my skin plump and soft without it being sticky or greasy. It works well to control oily and shine and provides brilliant hydration to my skin too. I like the packaging and that it comes with pump as I find it more hygienic as you don't have to dip your fingers in a jar . Impressively effective

I absolutely love the texture and it applies really well. It absorbs in good time allowing for next skincare steps. I have combination skin which is dry with an oily TZone. I was initially concerned it may make the dry parts of my skin drier but it didn’t. I’ve used it alone without make up and next make up. It was equally as effective. I didn’t experience any pilling with my other skincare or make up use. I’m really impressed with how it controls excess oil without further drying my dry patches. Unsatisfied with this product

I purchased this product as I have quite oily skin and was looking for a new oil control moisturiser. When looking to find a new moisturiser, I found this product as I have previously used Cerave facial cleansers and was looking into there Oil control range. However, I am extremely unsatisfied with this product. Since adding this moisturiser to my skincare routine it has actually increased the amount of oil created on my skin and has left me with an extremely shiny face. On applying this moisturiser it feels light and watery, although once fully applied it feels heavy. Therefore, ill be looking for another oil control moisturiser that actually does what it says.

I have been combining it with one of the SPF day creams for dry skin, and feel as if it is missing an SPF in itself, rather than having to layer another on top. New daily moisturiser and make up primer

As someone with oily-combination skin I was worried that it would dry out my skin and cause excess oil production. Cream controls oil whilst also still being moisturising. Prior to make up application, I used it as both a moisturiser and a primer and found this just as useful as my normal oil control primer. Had very little oil production even after 16 hours. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a combination skin and I liked this moisturiser cream to help control the T-zone oiliness. I find it hydrating, surely thanks to its main ingredient: 3 essential ceramides, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid, found often in the CeraVe products. I'm not sure why classified as gel-cream. I find the texture like a normal lightweight cream. Very fluid, so you need just a pea size for face application, a bit more for the neck too. I think its finish is more a natural finish than a matte one as advertised, which is fine as long helps controlling the shiny areas. Odourless, so good if you do not like fragrances or have a sensitive skin. Nice to use in any skincare routine as the ingredients would work fine with other products. Please note it doesn't include SPF, so you will need to apply it one on top!

Oil Control with Hydration

This moisturiser is housed inside of a squeezable tube with a pump applicator, which I find easily dispenses the product. It also has a pull off plastic cap which is great for protecting against any possible spills. This gel-cream is unscented, looks like a cream, but has a gel texture that is lightweight and absorbs easily. After applying, I wouldn’t say it gives me an instant matte finish but I can notice that my face is less oily. My skin feels very hydrated due to the included ingredients of niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and 3 essential ceramides. Throughout the day I noticed that while the oils on my face weren’t as prominent as normal, I don’t feel like they were controlled as much as I would’ve liked. Overall I do like this moisturiser. I find it very hydrating, it’s lightweight with a nice texture, and it does help control my oils to an extent, but I just would’ve liked it to have worked a bit better.

Less oily skin

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well I'm really impressed with how this cream gel is keeping the oily shine on my face at bay for longer than normal. Usually by mid day my face is showing signs of an oily shine. When I use this gel cream the oily shine doesn't start to appear for around 6 to 7 hours. This is a very lightweight cream gel. Massaging into my skin is a breeze as it absorbs really well. I've been using it every morning for almost 2 weeks. I would say that it took around 3 days before I really started to notice the difference. It sits well under makeup to. It's fragrance free and non-comedogenic which means it doesn't clog pores. It also contains niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and ceramides. The technology in this cream gel is designed to absorb excess oil. For me it didn't work straight away, it did take a few days. However it is helping to stop my skin from shining from excessive oil.

Now, the name might make you think this product would give you a matte finish, but that’s not quite the case. While it does a great job at controlling oil and preventing that midday shine, it doesn’t leave your skin looking matte. It’s more of a natural finish, which isn’t too dewy either. It simply keeps excess oil in check. One downside is that it doesn’t contain SPF, so you’ll need to apply sunscreen on top. Depending on which sunscreen you choose, you might still experience some shine, particularly in the T-zone, by the end of the day. It would be fantastic if this product had SPF included, or perhaps CeraVe could consider creating an oil-control sunscreen to complement this gel cream.

Love that it doesn’t dehydrate my skin

Another great Cerave moisturiser

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Cerave oil control moisturising gel cream from the Me and Cerave community to test and review. I have combination skin and do get oily areas particularly in my t-zone. I found that this moisturiser did improve those areas. It has a lightweight consistency and feels lovely on the skin. It also sits so well under makeup. My only negative is that I would want to use this as my morning moisturiser to control the oily areas during the day. However, it does not contain any SPF :( It would definitely be something I would add into my routine but it wouldn’t replace my Cerave AM spf 50 moisturiser or Cerave PM moisturiser.

Oil Control Moisturising Gel-Cream

It has a lightweight gel-cream texture and is white in colour. It is easy to work into the skin and leaves skin nicely moisturised. I didn’t notice an immediate matte finish on my skin after use but once it had dried down and over the day, I did feel like my t-zone appeared less oily.

A great cream

Still the same lightweight texture, that soaks in with no pilling. But also noticeably reduced my oil and made my skin mattified without feeling tight. Can't go wrong with buying this. Pleasantly surprised

Moisturising and oil free

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this gel cream for a week now every morning after cleansing. The formula makes it easy to apply to the face and soaks in lovely. With this gel there is no sticky/tacky residue. I have found that my skin is more hydrated in the places it needed it and I remain oil free for majority of the day. I have used this as a base for my makeup for a few days and my makeup has applied lovely on top and there is no peeling or patches. I used this product for a week and I could definitely see a major improvement in the oiliness of my skin. There was a clear difference on the days I used the oil control cream; my skin was be noticeably less greasy well into the day and it gave my face a mattifying finish without looking or feeling dry. I also feel like it had some effect on sebum production because my face seems to be less oily than before, even on days I don’t use the product. The only minor downside is that the tube packaging makes it hard to dispense the cream sometimes.

Great addition to the range

Finally something that works!

However on my second week I forgot to use it one day and the difference was crazy just within a few hours and touching my face it was so oily it was unbelievable so for me whilst I still have some oil this massively reduces it and I am not blotting my face every hour or so.

I am so happy to be chosen to test this new moisturiser as it is exactly for my skin type: combination to oily. It's a handy 52ml tube with an easy to use nozzle, allowing easy distribution of the cream. It's fragrance free and lightweight. Smooth but caused me to breakout

I do what I always do for my skincare but swapped my moisturiser out for the ceraVe one.
