Amazing product

It is simply amazing I have blemishes on my back and tried so many products like sand and salt scrubs, soaps and body brushes - nothing worked. I thought Effaclar while traveling in Portugal abcs fell in love with it. It quickly cleared my back from all pimples. Blemishes faded and ended up going my away fully within days. I will not stop using it for anything.

My skin got irritated

I bought this so i could have better complexion and remove my acne scars and been using this product for 2 weeks now. When I wake up the other day my face started to get itchy but I just let that go and today when i wake up my face and eyes was swollen and red and burning I could not go out without a face mask.

Not good

Wouldn’t recommend Says it’s for oily skin yet my skin which is combination has never been more oily since using this I’ve been using twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening along with the clarifying lotion. Around 30 minutes after using this my face is super oily Waste of money

Feels like a sunburn

Balanced skin

I brought this micro peeling gel to give my facial skin a deep cleanse and to get rid of dead skin cells. This gel dies a great job at doing this. After use my skin feels refreshed and balanced. This gel wash is gentle on my skin and does not leave it tight or dried out. I have oily combination skin and this is only tested on oily and acne prone skin. It removes excess sebum which is one of the causes of oily skin. My skin feels and looks more balanced after use, I have also noticed I have less breakouts to. I use it at night for a deep cleanse 2 to 3 times a week. I wet my skin, massage it in, then wash it off, patting my skin to dry it off. The contents incudes 2% Salicylic acid and LHA so you can exfoliate without it rubbing your skin too hard. It has a nice thick consistency and a slight fresh smell.

Greatly reduced and controlled my breakouts

I have a similar experience to an earlier reviewer re: hormonal adult acne at 30. Before my hormonal acne, I previously had issues with dry skin, so I was a little worried about picking this product up and ruining my moisture barrier. Very pleased to report I haven’t experienced stripping, and while my hormonal issues are ongoing, this wash has significantly improved and helped control the acne. I started alternating between my gentle cleanser and this one every second day in the first couple of weeks and have worked my way up to nightly (and morning sometimes if I have a workout). I’ve only been on it for about 5 weeks now so I have a long way to go, but I’m sure there’ll be increased benefits over time in tandem with some prescriptions to tackle the underlying hormonal issues.

Causing purging, however I can really feel it work

I bought this just a week ago and have been using it day and night. I’m 18 years old and have suffered from chin acne for a while now however, it was never as bad as it is now. I had lost all hoe and decided to buy the entire effeclar routine. Whilst the deep cleanse causes purging in my skin, I can really feel it working and tough blemishes I have had are fading away. Great cleanser

I bought this cleanser three weeks ago and I really like how fresh and clean my skin feels. I have been using it once a day, however after using it for a couple of weeks I started noticing some dry patches and redness around my eyes, nose and lips and some tiny red bumps too. Should I reduce the frequency or stop using it completely?

I have oily skin with enlarged pores and blackheads. The gel helps me a lot to keep my skin in good condition. I use the gel twice a day, in the morning and in the evening, I lather a little gel in wet palms and apply it on my face - I wash my face and rinse with water. Game Changer

My dermatologist recommended this wash twice daily in conjunction with the Effaclar duo plus moisturiser for my new onset adult hormonal acne (I’m 30). I can’t begin to explain how good this wash is. Lovely cleansed skin with Effaclar Micropeeling Ge

I have been using Effaclar Micropeeling Gel cleanser for a few weeks and I am happy with the results. I have used it mainly for facial cleansing to help with occasional breakouts. I have combination skin so I get the oily T zone which can lead to black heads and blocked pores. Since using the gel cleanser my skin has been a lot more matte and refined. After using my skin is squeaky clean and feels really fresh and invigorated and it has now become a staple in my skincare routine. I have not had any reactions or allergies whilst using the micro peel and I would recommend.

Average Exfoliating Cleanser - Too Much MENTHOL

This is a VERY average exfoliating cleanser from La Roche Posay. I used a full tube of this and found it to be no different than any other average drugstore facial wash. It contains mild surfactants that can cleanse skin and remove light makeup but all in all there is nothing truly special about this cleanser other than the fact that it contains Salicylic Acid, LHA (Capryloyl Salicylic Acid) & Zinc Gluconate. These are unique ingredients that are incredibly helpful in battling the many woes of Acne-Prone, Combination to Oily skin. However in a cleanser their exfoliating and sebum controlling ability is minimal as these ingredients simply don't stick around long enough to do their thing properly. It may help a tad but don't expect miracles. The problem with exfoliating cleansers like this is that they have a tendency to sting the delicate eye area so if you are wearing any form of eye-makeup be sure to get that off first and avoid using this cleanser in that delicate area. Also the inclusion of Menthol is a bit of a problem, there is no research showing this is helpful fo skin. It does provite a cooling sensation but it's a temporary affect that has no unique benefit to acne-prone skin. It would have been prudent if La Roche Posay had simply omitted this irritating ingredient. I would have rated this product higher had they done that.

GAME CHANGER!

I have serious acne-prone skin and someway somehow, this cleanser just has my acne under control. I’ve struggled looking for the right products for a while but this effaclar line is just so gooooood! I use this cleanser with the effaclar duo + and my skin has never felt smoother. It’s a bit strong though so I’d advise using it on alternating nights with your usual cleanser or even just thrice a week.

Absolute HG for reducing sebaceous filaments

I love this face wash, it has been the only thing I have ever used that has helped with sebaceous filaments on my nose. Tackles sebaceous filaments!

I have had sebaceous filaments (not blackheads, but similar) all over my nose as long as I can remember and no product, except for clay masks, have helped. I have used lots of different types of face wash over the years with no real improvement so I was pleasantly surprised that this face wash has actually removed them! Miracle! Only thing I would mention is it is a little drying around the eyes so would use a seperate eye makeup remover.

I've been using this gel wash daily since receiving it. I love the fact it doesn't leave my skin (face or body) overly dry or tight, which normally is the case with washes and cleansers for oily skin. In fact my skin feels clean, smooth, and my pores are noticeably smaller!! It helps keep those pesky breakouts at bay and has really helped with my shoulders and back reducing frequent breakouts and calming my skin. I highly recommend the larger bottle, as it's a generous size with a handy pump, perfect to keep in the bathroom.

Très déçue

Je l’ai utilisé durant quelques jours et j’ai commencé à avoir énormément de problèmes. Ma peau était beaucoup plus grasse et j’ai eu des rougeurs et de l’inflammation... même chose pour ma mère qui l’a également essayé. La liste d’ingrédients laisse à désirer. Je ne comprends pas pourquoi vous mettez du sodium laureth sulfate dans vos produits, c’est nocifs et loin d’être bien pour la peau. Can't believe how well this has worked....

Must admit to be the big 50 next year.... I have suffered with my skin all my life trying various different brands for problem skin, but they all seemed too harsh. The Micropeeling gel is amazing my skin has never felt and looked so clear... I do still have some marks and a few problem areas but I am sure that with continued us, these will improve. My 16 year old son has also started to use as he does suffer from face and body breakouts and we have seen a big improvement. Thank you.

Hello. The cleanser ain’t to harsh and is pleasant to use. Can I ask, I hear salicylic acid works best in PH lower than 4, and is more effective if it is left on overnight instead of washing it off. Given this product is at pH 5.5 and it’s a wash off, how is it still effective, do you have any leave on peels with salicylic acid?

Strong and effective

Great Cleanser, but ....

This actually works really great, my skin feels so smooth! But I’m confused — is this an exfoliant, or a cleanser? I bought this with the impression that it would be an exfoliant, but I didn’t feel any dead skin coming off, so is it actually a cleanser then? I changed to this from another brand of salicylic cleanser because they added a perfume to theirs and I’ve previously been impressed with the gentleness of your products, but sadly the menthol in yours has really irritated my skin. Is there a reason besides ‘fresh’ feeling and fragrance for the menthol to be in there? I was so happy when I saw you had a salicylic cleanser but the acne fighting benefits are outweighed by the irritation.

good cleanser

Also, it stung my eyesa bit so I had to be extra careful when using it. I have extremely sensitive eyes so it's probably me, not the product. Worked for my Keratosis pilaris

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this for around 6 weeks now and I've seen a massive improvement to the Keratosis pilaris on my arms. I use it in the shower 2-3 times per week without applying any other creams post shower and there has been a noticeable improvement. My partner has also applied it to his bacne which has also improved. Would definitely recommend this product. Would work better on oilier skin

I brought this a couple of weeks ago an I think it is too harsh for my skin. I have an oily tzone and normal skin on the rest of my face but I think since it is winter where i am and I use other aha and bha products its a bit much for everyday use as my skin got red dry patches of flaky skin. Love the size of the product and how it lightly foams but I will be either waiting to use it in summer or using it only a couple of times per week.

Unexpected texture

I bought this by mistake, I thought I wanted to look for a foaming wash-off cleanser for my teenage son who has oily skin. I thought this would be a wash-off gel cleanser and I tried to use it once. My skin is combination to dry, where the T-zone can shine throughout the afternoon, but the rest of it quite dry. My objective to try was to experience the after-wash-feeling, would it be easy to wash off my make-up. For make up cleansing, i don't really recommend, i still saw residue when I cleansed with milk cleanser and cotton pad. When I used on my cleansed face, I find the lather was little, but it did gave me a fresh feeling and no tightness. I will continue to use for another few days to see if I will see peeling on my skin, after all I have oily zone. Depending on your skin type and your requirement, if you just want to wash off your oily zone (not with make-up), it can deliver the purpose. However, if you like lather, this may not be one.

Perfect face wash for those who suffer with problem outbreaks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really struggle with outbreaks of spots around my chin area, and during summer months occasional outbreaks across my chest and shoulders which is really unfortunte. Was pleased to receive this cleanser for review as I regualy use the effclar + moisturiser and find it really effective. Was a bit worried that it might be too drying too use on all my facial skin with it being foaming, but this hasnt been a problem. It really seems to have kept breakouts more under control, and calmed existing redness and swelling even seeming to reduce those horrible under the skin spots. Its ideal to use in the shower to wash my face, neck, chest, shoulders and back. A little lathers up a long way so i can see this lasting a long time. I’ve been please with the results so far and it seems a nice addition to using the efficlar + to keep breakouts in check. And hopefully prevent more going forward.

Good but a bit harsh on my face

I love this!

I regularly use the entire effaclar range and love it! So when I saw this new cleanser, I raced out to get it. I suffer from hormonal breakouts and find this cleanser super effective. It feels pleasantly tingly and refreshing when used, but is still gentle enough for my sensitive skin. My skin is quite oily, so definitely test it before using if you have dry skin!

Great face cleanser

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My skin is prone to spots in around the nose chin and forehead area where skin is a bit oily after using Effaclar twice daily for couple of weeks I noted significant reduction in black head, my pores seem to be cleaner. This gel is great, doesn't dry out the skin, face after washing feels refreshed, cleaner but not tight. It contains salicylic acid so it's perfect for acne prone skin types.

Good BHA product for congested skin

Helps to decongest the skin and reduces pore-blocking sebum. Can be a little drying so if you have dehydrated skin this is probably more for occasional use rather than an everyday product

Gentle cleansing gel

Cleans the skin deeply

If you use it every 2 days it will help you to get less spots. I think every day is too much. And I always use my dermallergo serum after this

Really good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using this product for 2 weeks now and am loving it. It's kind of comparable to the cerave sa cleanser minus the ceramides. But to compare the 2 I prefer this one as i like the way it foams and works faster as you start seeing a difference in a few days. I usually the ordinary version of this in a serum but as it is not available I like this at the moment. I like the fact it has 2% salacylic acid in a wask which in the price range is really good and unlike the ordinary it does not stay on the skin as it is a wash.

Refreshing as a lemon

My skin feels smooth and it helps with my acne also. I suffer from acne and I think this is a great product. You must apply a serum and moisturiser after this but the product it self makes you feel alive. It makes me love my skin.
